MoKa House has worked with businesses of all sizes and one of the things we've learned is that running a business requires knowledge of a wide range of writing (and other) skills. We love to share what we've learned, so here's this week's
small business tip from
MoKa House.
Take days off.
Small business owners, especially those who are in their first year or two of business, often feel like they have to be at the office all of the time. They're dealing with phone calls, answering emails and always thinking about the next step of the job. This is how a small business becomes a booming business.
However, you have to take time off. Everyone needs a break from the office whether the office is the big corporate place you're hoping to leave one day when your small business takes off or the home office where you are launching the career that you love. People need time away to just breathe, relax, and rejuvenate their minds.
Choose a day of the week or a weekend of the month when you simply aren't going to think about work. Turn off your phones and turn on your email automatic response and agree with yourself that you'll do anything at all besides concern yourself with your small business. You won't believe what a change these breaks can make in your ability to maintain your happiness with your work over the long haul.
